COPA is already operating as an active proof of concept. The future COPA Arts Campus is planned to grow from that work at the proposed Index Road site in Fitchburg, Wisconsin—creating a connected indoor-outdoor campus with flexible spaces for visual and performing arts, learning and creative workforce development, rehearsal, production, performance, exhibition, collaboration, cultural exchange, shared services, and community use across Greater Dane County.

COPA is already operating an active proof of concept. The future COPA Arts Campus grows from that work – using what we are learning today to shape a permanent, connected place where people can create, learn, rehearse, make, perform, exhibit, collaborate, work, and gather.
Current planning centers on the proposed approximately 4.5-acre Index Road site in Fitchburg, where Creative House, Studio House, Arts Exchange House, and Leckrone Field are intended to work together as one indoor-outdoor campus serving Greater Dane County.

Creative House at COPA — the planned flagship hub for performance, rehearsal, learning, creative workforce development, production, collaboration, shared services, and community gathering.
Studio House at COPA — the planned renovation of the existing building as a daily-use home for visual arts, studios, workshops, exhibition, instruction, creative production, and shared support.
Arts Exchange House at COPA — a planned live/work, exhibition, learning, and cultural-exchange environment where visiting artists, educators, performers, and partners can create, teach, collaborate, and connect with the community.
Leckrone Field & Outdoor Performance Environment — a planned setting for performances, rehearsals, events, gatherings, and everyday community use that connects the campus indoors and out.
naming opportunities
A name can become part of a place’s story. Across the future COPA Arts Campus, selected buildings, performance and rehearsal spaces, studios, gathering areas, and other campus features are planned to offer naming opportunities recognizing individuals, families, organizations, and community partners whose support helps move the vision forward.

arts 360°
There is more to the arts than what happens in the spotlight. COPA’s 360° approach recognizes the full creative community—artists and performers, audiences, educators, technicians, producers, administrators, creative professionals, and the people who simply want to experience and be part of the arts.
Across the COPA Arts Campus, shared spaces and resources are planned to support making, learning, rehearsing, producing, exhibiting, performing, collaborating, and building the skills and connections that keep creative work moving forward.
Creative House at COPA
Creative House at COPA is planned as the campus’s primary home for performance, rehearsal, learning, creative workforce development, production, and collaboration.
Flexible performance and rehearsal spaces will support artists and organizations at different scales, alongside practice and lesson rooms, technical and production areas, meeting and learning spaces, and shared resources designed for everyday creative use.
Rather than serving a single organization or artistic discipline, Creative House is envisioned as a shared community resource—one part of a larger COPA Arts Campus designed to connect people, ideas, and creative work across Greater Dane County.
