Ivo Rozendaal brings deep experience in architecture, cultural spaces, community planning, and collaborative design to his leadership with COPA. A Senior Principal and Architect with SmithGroup, Ivo’s work includes some of Wisconsin’s most recognizable cultural projects, including The Sylvee, American Players Theatre, and the Wisconsin History Center.

As President of the COPA Board, Ivo brings that professional experience to the stewardship of a much larger community vision. His involvement helps connect COPA’s long-range campus plans with thoughtful design, practical planning, responsible governance, and an understanding of how spaces can strengthen the communities and people they are created to serve.

Ivo is particularly valued for his collaborative approach and ability to bring people, ideas, and priorities together around a shared purpose. At COPA, that means looking beyond buildings themselves to the experiences they make possible—places where artists, organizations, learners, audiences, and communities can create, connect, participate, and grow.

Joe Koss brings decades of business leadership and financial experience to his work with COPA. A retired President and CEO of Culver Franchising System, Joe now serves as Treasurer for both COPA and Friends of COPA, helping provide thoughtful financial stewardship as the two independent organizations work toward their complementary missions.

Joe’s involvement with COPA reflects his belief in creating practical opportunities for artists, organizations, learners, audiences, and communities throughout Greater Dane County. He brings a grounded business perspective to the project while helping ensure that planning, resources, and financial decisions remain responsible and focused on the long-term vision.

For Joe, COPA is ultimately about building something useful for the community—an arts environment that can support participation, creativity, collaboration, and opportunity for years to come.

Lisa Boyd brings a lifelong connection to music, visual arts, community projects, and creative problem-solving to COPA. Her experience has taken her from Louisiana and St. Louis to Madison, combining a deep appreciation for the arts with experience in operations, account management, marketing, and hands-on project coordination. Along the way, she has helped turn creative ideas into real community experiences—including leading an arts project that brought an artist together with an entire school community to create a 4,100-square-foot mural.

Today, Lisa is an active part of Madison’s arts community and brings that same combination of creativity and practical follow-through to COPA. Through Land of Great Ideas and her service as Secretary of the COPA Board, she contributes an instinct for connecting people, organizing ideas, communicating clearly, and helping move worthwhile projects from conversation into action.

Lisa is equally comfortable with the creative and the practical. She believes the arts are strongest when people can participate, collaborate, discover something new, and feel part of a community. That mix of curiosity, energy, resourcefulness, and genuine love of the arts makes her an important part of COPA and the community it is working to serve.

Mike Leckrone served as Director of the University of Wisconsin Marching Band from 1969 to 2019, building a remarkable legacy that has touched generations across Wisconsin and beyond.

Today, Mike serves as COPA’s Lead Community Ambassador, helping share the vision for a creative community where artists, organizations, learners, audiences, and supporters can connect and thrive.

Friends of COPA administers the Leckrone Arts Fund, a Resilience Fund bearing Mike’s name and reflecting his lifelong belief in participation, opportunity, education, and the arts. Mike continues to lend his voice, experience, enthusiasm, and community relationships in support of COPA, Friends of COPA, and the Leckrone Arts Fund.

Madison native Joe White has spent much of his life making music, supporting musicians, and helping keep the region’s jazz and blues traditions moving forward. He began studying classical percussion as a child and continued his musical education through Interlochen Arts Academy, Berklee College of Music, and Oberlin Conservatory of Music, building a foundation that has carried across genres, ensembles, education, and decades of live performance.

Today, Joe remains an active presence in Madison’s music community as a drummer, bandleader, collaborator, and advocate for live music. The Joe White Quartet continues to perform throughout the area, while Joe’s work in jazz, blues, soul, and R&B has connected him with generations of musicians and audiences. Just as important to Joe is keeping the doors open for others—supporting the venues, jam sessions, collaborations, and opportunities that allow musicians to learn from one another and a local music community to thrive.

Joe brings that working musician’s perspective to COPA. He understands firsthand the importance of having places to rehearse, perform, teach, learn, experiment, and connect. His experience and commitment to the local arts community help keep COPA grounded in the people who will actually use these spaces—and in the idea that a strong arts community grows when experienced artists and emerging voices have opportunities to share the same room.

Dale Sticha is the founder and visionary behind COPA, a project shaped by a lifetime spent working where music, production, technology, and people come together. As founder of Madison-based SOSONIC and, for more than three decades, touring piano technician and tuner for Elton John, Dale built a career that took him around the world and gave him a firsthand view of how artists, audiences, venues, technical professionals, and communities depend on one another.

Those experiences ultimately helped shape the idea for COPA. Dale saw both extraordinary creative environments and the everyday challenges artists and organizations face when the right spaces, resources, connections, and opportunities are not available. His response was not simply to imagine another building, but to begin developing a practical model where existing arts activity can grow today while helping inform a larger, connected campus for the future.

Dale currently serves on the boards of both COPA and Friends of COPA and remains closely involved in advancing the vision, partnerships, planning, and day-to-day work behind the project. His focus now is less on where his own career has taken him and more on what those experiences can help make possible for others—creating lasting opportunities for artists, organizations, learners, audiences, and communities throughout Greater Dane County.

Jay Koritzinsky brings more than four decades of legal, real-estate, business, and community experience to his leadership of Friends of COPA. As Managing Partner of Koritzinsky Legal Group, Jay has built a long career advising clients on commercial and residential real estate, fair housing, landlord-tenant matters, and other complex legal issues. He is also a licensed Wisconsin real-estate broker and has lectured extensively throughout the state. A longtime Badger, Jay earned his undergraduate degree with Honors from UW–Madison and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Jay’s connection to community service extends beyond his professional career. He has supported nonprofit and volunteer efforts in the Madison area, including years of hands-on work with the Nationwide Trophy Recycling Program, helping transform materials that might otherwise be discarded into awards and recognition for organizations and communities across the country. That willingness to contribute time as well as professional experience reflects a practical approach to service: meaningful progress happens when people are willing to participate.

As President of Friends of COPA, Jay helps guide the organization’s governance, stewardship, and philanthropic work in support of COPA and the Leckrone Arts Fund. His legal and real-estate experience, long connection to UW–Madison, and commitment to community service bring an important perspective to an organization entrusted with building relationships, earning donor confidence, and expanding opportunities for artists, organizations, learners, and communities throughout Greater Dane County.

Kim Schachte brings a career built around relationships, community, design, and connecting people with possibilities to her work with Friends of COPA. As Director of Business Development at Strang, Kim works at the intersection of people and the built environment—listening, identifying opportunities, solving problems, and bringing the right people together around shared goals. Her background in Interior Architecture from UW–Madison adds another dimension to that work and to her appreciation for how thoughtfully created spaces can influence the people and communities they serve.

That same instinct for connection runs through Kim’s community involvement. She has supported organizations and initiatives throughout Greater Madison, building relationships across business, education, nonprofit, and community circles. She is particularly effective at turning introductions into partnerships and ideas into relationships that can grow over time.

As Vice President of Friends of COPA, Kim brings those strengths directly to the organization’s work supporting COPA and advancing the Leckrone Arts Fund. Her ability to listen, connect people, build trust, and communicate a larger purpose helps Friends of COPA strengthen the community relationships and philanthropic support needed to expand opportunity and access to the arts for years to come.

Sarah Dunn brings more than two decades of experience in business development, community engagement, communications, fundraising, and construction to her work with Friends of COPA. As Senior Vice President of Business Development & Client Services at CG Schmidt, Sarah has helped guide some of Wisconsin’s most visible and complex community projects—bringing people together, building support around ambitious ideas, and helping organizations move from vision and planning into implementation.

Sarah’s connection to the arts and community runs well beyond her professional work. Her involvement has included leadership and support for Children’s Theater of Madison and the Madison Youth Arts Center, along with numerous education, nonprofit, health, and community initiatives throughout Wisconsin. She has been recognized for her leadership in business development, community service, communications, and her advocacy for women and underrepresented voices in the construction industry.

Through Friends of COPA, Sarah brings an especially valuable combination of relationship-building, development experience, community credibility, and an understanding of what it takes to turn a large vision into something achievable. She understands that successful community projects require more than a good idea—they require trust, participation, resources, persistence, and people willing to move the work forward. Those strengths help Friends of COPA build the partnerships and philanthropic support needed to expand opportunity and access to the arts throughout Greater Dane County.

Rick Flowers brings a lifetime in music—and decades within Madison’s music community—to his work with Friends of COPA. A drummer, pianist, songwriter, vocalist, producer, and bandleader, Rick grew up in a musical family and began playing at an early age. Over the course of his career, he has worked across jazz, soul, blues, R&B, pop, and other styles, sharing stages with accomplished artists including Freddie Hubbard, Richard Davis, Charles Brown, Mary Stallings, Javon Jackson, and Mel Rhyne.

Rick’s contribution to Madison extends well beyond performing. As a producer and collaborator through Floroq, he has helped other artists develop and record their work, including his acclaimed collaboration with the Rob Dz Experience. He also created R Place on Madison’s South Side, building a home for live music and open jams that brought musicians, audiences, styles, and communities together. Today, Rick remains an active performer and collaborator in the Greater Madison music scene.

As a member of the Friends of COPA Board, Rick brings the perspective of someone who understands firsthand what working artists need: places to create and perform, opportunities to connect, audiences willing to listen, and communities that value the people making the art. His experience helps keep Friends of COPA grounded in the artists and users its work is ultimately intended to support—and in the belief that access to the arts grows stronger when opportunity is shared.

Mika Mitmoen brings the perspective of a lifelong educator and a family deeply rooted in music to her work with Friends of COPA. During a 35-year career in elementary education with the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District, Mika saw firsthand how creative experiences can shape confidence, curiosity, self-expression, and a young person’s sense of possibility.

Music has also been part of Mika’s life for as long as she can remember. As the daughter of Mike Leckrone, she grew up surrounded by musicians, students, educators, performances, and the remarkable community that formed around her father’s career. That experience gave her an unusually personal view of what happens when people are given encouragement, opportunity, and a place to participate in the arts.

As a member of the Friends of COPA Board, Mika brings those two perspectives together: an educator’s understanding of how opportunity can influence a life, and a personal connection to the values represented by the Leckrone Arts Fund. Her involvement helps keep the organization focused on the people behind the mission—artists, learners, families, organizations, and community members—and on creating meaningful opportunities for them to participate, learn, create, and grow.

Her connection to the arts is also personal. Katy is a visual artist whose work has been displayed at COPA, giving her a firsthand appreciation for the importance of places where artists, organizations, audiences, and community members can gather, create, share their work, and connect with one another.
